Verse
A social platform that unites streaming and real-time discussion
UI Design, Mobile App Design, Branding
Problem
Media watching is scattered across apps; you stream in one place and discuss in another, making the social experience feel disconnected.
Opportunity
Build a unified platform that merges streaming and conversation, letting fans engage and connect in real time for a more social, interactive viewing experience.
Overview
Verse is a platform that turns conversation into part of the viewing experience. Verse unites streaming and social interaction in one place, strengthening human connection through shared interests and passions. By combining watching and discussion in real time, it transforms media consumption into an interactive, communal experience.

Target Users & Insights
While developing Verse, I studied how fans engage with the content they love, from those seeking community to those eager to share their knowledge. Despite people’s differences and preferences when consuming media, all felt human connection was scattered. They wanted to react in real time, find like-minded people, and discuss without switching apps. These insights shaped Verse into a platform where watching and connecting happen together.

Branding
I wanted Verse’s visual identity to capture the bold, expressive energy of online fandom. Inspired by early-2000s Scenecore, it uses electric purples, greens, and pinks to evoke the nostalgic excitement of logging on to a shared digital space.

Verse works as both a TV app and a mobile companion. On TV, it unites all your paid streaming subscriptions into one hub for easier browsing, discovery, and viewing. On your phone, Verse becomes a synced second screen for chat, control, and exploration. Instant pairing connects devices seamlessly, letting you watch and talk in real time. Spoiler filters keep conversations safe, and synchronized watch parties make group viewing effortless, all designed to make streaming feel social, connected, and seamless across screens.

Through this project, I learned to design across multiple screens, consider emotional engagement as part of UX, and think systemically about how features work together to build community. Most of all, it reinforced my belief that design isn’t just about creating products, it’s about shaping how people experience moments together.
